PTA Life Membership

This time of year, the PTSA has the privilege of selecting the honorees for the Texas PTA Life Members. Please take the time to nominate a worthy volunteer, student, faculty or staff or community member.

What is a Texas PTA Life Membership? It is one of the highest honors presented to individuals for outstanding service to children and youth.  It is a wonderful way to recognize individual contributions to our school, or children and youth, in general.

Recipients of Life Membership will be announced in December and honored in February at the Annual Life Membership banquet.

Nominee Qualifications The ONLY requirement for receiving this honor is that the recipient has made worthwhile contributions to the well being of children and youth.  He or she (while usually a member of PTA) does not have to be a member of the PTA, nor must the service for this honor being bestowed be connected with the PTA.

How do I Submit a Nomination? It’s EASY!! Just send an email to with the nominees name and how they have served children and youth.  Add comments as to why you feel they deserve to be nominated.  Sign your name and occupation. If you choose do do a letter, then enclose it in a sealed envelope to the attention of VP of Membership, and turn in to the front office. Forms are available here.

Who Already Has a Texas Life Membership? To find a list of Life Members and Extended Service Award Members, please go here. Members are listed in alphabetical order.

There is another category for those who have already awarded Life Membership. It is called the Extended Service Award.  You may nominate someone who has already been awarded a Lifetime Membership Award if they have had 10 years of service to children and youth.  These do not have to be consecutive years.  Please indicate “Extended” if you are submitting a nominee vial email or letter.

The deadline for submitting nominees is Wednesday, November 30th.  Forms are attached for both awards.  Please send your nominations to the school, attention Jeanne Koepke, VP Membership or email them to
